The Detroit Police Department is committed to ensuring that the Project Safe Neighborhoods Law Enforcement collaborative (Operation TIDE) is successful and will deploy the necessary resources for this to occur. Every day, we have officers assigned to concentrate on active or potential criminal activity within city limits, mainly through patrol, investigations and enforcement. By collecting and disseminating the acquired intelligence amongst partnering agencies, crime patterns will be swiftly identified and addressed.

Department of Justice: U.S. Attorney’s Office
The U.S. Attorney’s Office is the lead agency implementing the Project Safe Neighborhoods strategy of enforcement, prevention and public awareness. A team of dedicated federal prosecutors work to help take violent offenders out of neighborhoods every day with stiff federal sentences where no chance of parole exists. The three year-old program has built upon its successes in the Eastern District of Michigan and is now expanding based upon the need for all agencies to collaborate in order to create, implement and sustain a long-term gun and gang violence prevention campaign. 1.800.ATF.GUNS is the official tip line of Project Safe Neighborhoods for the community to use to report felons with guns, gun crimes, illegal gun sales and illegal gun trafficking. The U.S. Attorney is committed to leading the initiative and working with the ten law enforcement agencies and the community to make a real difference in Detroit.

Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF)
The ATF has unique statutory authority over the “tools of the trade” that make violent criminals a threat to public safety. In addition to its special agents, ATF brings analytical investigative resources with its intelligence research specialists, investigative assistants and Crime Gun Analysis Branch; innovative technology with its National Tracing Center, National Integrated Ballistics Information Network (NIBIN), National Laboratories, and the Firearms Technology Branch; as well as specially trained arson and explosives detection canine teams. ATF manages the official PSN tip line, 800.ATF.GUNS; provides cross-training for partnering law enforcement agencies on firearm identification, safety, interdiction, trafficking, and tracing; federal and state firearm statutes; crime scene and evidence management; and strategic planning.

Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI)
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) will provide intelligence and deconfliction coordination between PSN’s Operation T.I.D.E. and the FBI's Safe Streets Task Force Initiative. The FBI also provides crime mapping expertise.

U.S. Marshals Service
The United States Marshals Service provides investigative assistance utilizing the manpower, expertise, and technical capabilities of the Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team (DFAT). DFAT is a Marshals Service fugitive task force and is comprised of Federal, State, County, and local officers committed to the finding and the apprehension of fugitives in the Eastern District of Michigan.

U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
DEA Detroit has committed to working with our law enforcement partners to reclaim Detroit neighborhoods from drugs and violence. DEA has provided resources in order to successfully disrupt and dismantle drug organizations plaguing the streets of Detroit. Furthermore, DEA has shared intelligence and coordinated enforcement activities with our law enforcement partners in order to collectively bring violent criminals to justice.

State
Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC)
MDOC is committed to providing parolees with the resources and supervision necessary to keep gun offenders from re-entering the criminal justice system. MDOC provides suppression - Specialized gun violence caseloads with law enforcement assisted home visits; Deterrence - offender notification meetings with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and others to deliver a balanced message of both deterrence and opportunity; and intervention - linkage with prisoner reentry initiatives to better prepare offenders for release to community.
Michigan State Police (MSP)
Michigan State Police have been a long-term partner in the Project Safe Neighborhoods initiative, providing resources and leadership at their in-school outreach program, Project Sentry, and taking on a lead law enforcement role, along with Wayne County Sheriff, in Highland Park through a PSN grant. MSP is now providing key resources and staff time to Operation TIDE and is committed to a long-term collaboration that will help make a lasting impact on violence.
County
Wayne Country Prosecutor’s Office
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy and her entire office are dedicated to reducing gun violence. A team of prosecutors work diligently on gun cases and a devoted prosecutor works continuously on Operation TIDE. The Prosecutor’s Office is very pleased to be part of a true collaborative effort that provides the necessary resources and intelligence to target our communities’ most violent offenders.

Wayne County Sheriff’s Office
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is providing uniformed patrol units to perform intensive high visibility enforcement in designated "hot spots" in Detroit. Home checks of high risk parolee or probation status offenders are being conducted by SPOTCHECK teams comprised of Sheriff's Deputies and Corrections Officers. Plain clothes deputies will be locating and arresting high risk offenders wanted on warrants. Special Operations unit is also conducting narcotics enforcement.
